Teamsters Win Representation Election for Atlantic County Workers

Atlantic County workers celebrated their big win Teamster-style on Tuesday night, after the March 11th vote count in the NJ PERC election.  Having blown out the UWU by nearly twenty percentage points, they had a lot to celebrate.  Music played and "champagne" flowed, as Teamsters filled the Union Hall to celebrate their brother and sisterhood.

International Field Rep Brad Yeakel introduced the staff, including BA's Susan Taylor and Bubby Walker, who thanked the members, the International, and Trustee Marcus King for their roles in this great success.  International Organizers Vangie Moreno and Darlene Page spoke about the upcoming First Student campaign and how the Atlantic County win could lend momentum to their efforts.  Finally, Marcus toasted the future of Atlantic County Teamsters and Local 331 to cheers and applause.

Everyone enjoyed the awesome wings, fruit and snacks, and fellowship.  It was a moment to savor, because these kinds of decisive turning points can be so few and far between.  It's another new beginning for AC Teamsters, a beginning that will lead to more and even sweeter celebrations to come.  We're on a roll, and we're not quitting now.  There will be more battles and challenges ahead.  They will come soon enough, but for now we celebrate our pride in being Teamsters and it's a winning feeling.
