Members Connect at March Meeting

Well over fifty members showed up for the general membership meeting on March 26th.  After Trustee Marcus King lead the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence, Anita Wagner read the minutes of the previous meeting.  The financial report was read and several questions answered regarding special funds.

A special presentation was given by U First Financial explaining a novel approach to pre-paying mortgage principal that could result in very significant savings for interested members.  After the presentation, Business Agents Sue Taylor, Clarence "Bubby" Walker and Brad Yeakel gave their reports.  The Political Action and Building Committees gave reports, and the Bylaws Committee is next to be formed.  Marcus gave his report and answered a number of questions from the floor.

A fifty-fifty raffle was held to help defray the cost of the sausage and peppers and soft drinks and lots of door prizes were awarded.  Next meeting is April 23rd.  We all need to keep attendance high to help ensure the continuing success of our local.  If each member went to only one meeting per year, there would be over 200 members at each meeting!  See you in April, and bring a friend!
