A special thank you from Marcus King and the staff to the 32 dedicated stewards and interested members who came out on Saturday for several hours to learn more about serving their members, enforcing their contracts, and making a difference in the union. Atlantic County stewards were particularly well represented. An outstanding presentation was given by IBT education trainers Bill Munger and Myron Sharp. After several workshop exercises, the session concluded with an action plan to develop a system of committees to increase member participation in the local. Everyone worked hard and got a lot out of the training material. Follow up and advanced training is planned for the future. Thank you again to the local union shop stewards. We couldn't do it without you! |
